FAQ
Prompt generator, supported AIs, pricing, and the Chrome extension.
What is PromptEngine?
PromptEngine is an AI prompt generator and optimizer that turns rough ideas into structured, model-tuned prompts for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. It works as a web app and as a Chrome extension that runs inside the chat UIs of ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.
Which AI models does PromptEngine support?
PromptEngine generates prompts tuned for four flagship conversational AIs: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google) and Grok (xAI). Each model gets its own prompt structure and tone — Claude prompts use XML blocks, ChatGPT prompts are execution-first, Gemini prompts emphasise deterministic formatting, and Grok prompts use a direct conversational style.
Is PromptEngine free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 prompts per week, all four target AIs, the Chrome extension, and 150 free library prompts (open, edit, copy). Pro unlocks the full library, a Saved shelf, 50 generates/week, and history. Creator is unlimited generation plus the same library features.
What is the PromptEngine prompt library?
A curated studio of prompts for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. Free members get 150 prompts with full open/edit/copy. Pro and Creator unlock the rest and can save favorites to a personal shelf on the library page.
How is PromptEngine different from writing prompts by hand?
PromptEngine analyses your raw input, infers your real objective, picks the right output format and rewrites your request with explicit constraints — "never fabricate", "acknowledge uncertainty", structured headings. The result is a model-tuned prompt that gives sharper, more consistent answers than ad-hoc prompting, with none of the trial-and-error.
Does PromptEngine work inside ChatGPT?
Yes. The PromptEngine Chrome extension adds a one-click button right inside the ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude chat boxes. Type a rough draft, click the button, and your prompt is rewritten in place — no copy-pasting back and forth between tabs.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Pro and Creator subscriptions can be cancelled anytime from your account. There are no long-term contracts, and your account stays on the Free plan after cancellation.
Where does PromptEngine store my prompts?
Prompts are not logged on our servers. Semantic processing happens in your browser. Pro and Creator users can opt to save prompts to their personal prompt history; Free users have no history by design. We do not run third-party advertising and we do not sell your data.
What is the best ChatGPT prompt generator for beginners?
PromptEngine is built for beginners: describe your idea in plain language, pick ChatGPT (or Claude, Gemini, Grok), and get a structured prompt you can paste. Start free with 3 prompts per week—no prompt-engineering course required. See our ChatGPT prompt generator guide.
Is PromptEngine only for ChatGPT?
